Hi, my name is Jon. I own and run Baconbabble.com. I am a very proud dad of a hilarious young lady. She is the funniest person I know and the inspiration behind my wanting to succeed. My idea of a perfect night would be pizza delivered, root beer floats and playing rummy or watching a movie with my daughter and Fiancee.
Baconbabble is a funny story/picture site.

Most of the pictures are already out there, hiding like easter eggs in the wonderful world wide web. However, on some occasions I have to photoshop a picture or somehow take my own for a certain article. My ideas come from everyday living. For example, just driving my daughter to school every morning, I might see something or hear something that strikes me as funny. I'll go home, research it and write it, edit it and find pictures to match. My favorite part is watching my fiancée read or look at my work. I can tell so much by her facial expressions, is it good, does it suck, she is my best critic. She is very honest (sometimes too honest. Haha)
I was talked into doing Baconbabble by my brother. I ran and still currently run a stick figure web comic.
My brother felt that I had too much time on my hands and thought I should try a article based website. I figured, why not? I honestly didn't think it would do too well, it was going to be more of a way for me to laugh and write about the bizarre ways of the world. The website name itself, baconbabble was my second choice. I first wanted the name rustybaconstrip, (I just like how it sounds and I love bacon!) However, after learning that the term rusty bacon strip reffered to an old woman's private area, (while I laughed hard about it) It just wasn't the look I wanted for my site. So, baconbabble it was. It's since grown on me and I like it a lot.
Baconbabble has only been around for about 7 months now. I bought the domain name about the first week of May 2009. I added a lot of articles and funny pictures and started to promote the site on Stumble, Reddit and Digg. To my surprise it took off!
I currently live in Spokane Valley, Washington in the upper Northwest corner of America. I have found that baconbabble gets most of its traffic from America, However, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Germany round out the top five as far as traffic goes. (according to google analytics)
Baconbabble was started in my basement of all places. Me sitting on my laptop just clicking and laughing and loving every moment of it. If it weren't for two people then baconbabble would have never gotten off the ground. My brother who is the brains of the family. Any website problems or questions I have, he is always right there. The second person is my fiancee. She is also the one I turn to for any wordpress questions or spelling questions. I am the worlds worst speller. One thing I learned very quickly is there are a lot of people out there in the world wide web that will not only correct you on how to spell something, but they will threaten to kill your family and dog Peetie if you ever make that mistake again. =) Thanks to those two people and my love for laughing and joking around, baconbabble is doing great.
If I could give any advice, or leave some kind of message to the world... I would have to say something that my dad told me when I was graduating from high school and really not looking forward to the idea of full time work. He said, "Find something you love doing son and you'll never have to work a day in your life." I wasn't smart enough at the time to hear him and understand what that meant, however, now that I am 35 years old, I have the funniest and loving family anyone could ever have and I can't wait to get up every morning and work on the website everyday. Since the start of baconbabble, I haven't felt like I have had to work at all. Do what you love and appreciate all the little things that come with it.
Have Fun,
Jon
